Universal Audiology is a privately-owned family practice, committed to providing outstanding hearing healthcare services in the Olean, Dunkirk, Orchard Park, and Jamestown, NY, areas. We have always been deeply rooted in our community since being founded three generations ago by John P. Gullo.
Now under the ownership of his grandson, Joseph A. Gullo II, we continue to maintain the same principles and quality of service that the local community has come to expect. We pride ourselves on tradition and our ability to treat each individual’s specific needs while offering the latest services and cutting-edge technology at an affordable price.

We offer a wide range of services to help you with all of your hearing, tinnitus, and hearing aid needs. Our owner and audiologist, Joseph Gullo, is dedicated to providing quality service to our patients. With four convenient locations, we help patients all across Olean, Dunkirk, Orchard Park, and Jamestown. We also use best practices to fit and program your hearing aids, ensuring they are comfortable for you. We are also one of the only hearing practices to offer a risk-free 45-day trial of hearing aids with no return fees.
What to Expect at Your First Appointment
When you first come to Universal Audiology, you will notice that we strive to provide you with excellent service. When you arrive you will fill out some light paperwork that will help us understand your medical history and what brought you in. Once you’ve completed your paperwork our audiologist will greet you and bring you back for your appointment.
To begin your appointment we will take a case history, which includes going over the paperwork you filled out while waiting. We will talk to you about your hearing and build an idea of what is happening in your ears.
After our conversation, we will perform a complete evaluation of your ears and hearing. We will look inside your ears and make sure there is no earwax build-up and that we can see the eardrum.
Then we will perform a series of hearing tests including a tone test and a test of the middle ear function.
After we’ve tested your hearing, we will go over your results with you. If you are a good candidate for hearing aids, we will recommend some options that we believe will help you.
If you want to try hearing aids, we will give you a 45-day trial period to test the hearing aids at home and in your usual environments.
