Universal Audiology is a privately-owned family hearing clinic, committed to providing outstanding hearing healthcare services in the Olean, Dunkirk, Orchard Park, and Jamestown, NY, areas. We have always been deeply rooted in our community since being founded three generations ago by John P. Gullo.

Now under the ownership of his grandson, Joseph A. Gullo II, we continue to maintain the same principles and quality of service that the local community has come to expect. At Universal Audiology, we take care of our patients and do our best to go above and beyond their expectations. We offer a wide range of services to help you with all your hearing, tinnitus, and hearing aid needs. Our owner and audiologist, Joseph Gullo, is dedicated to providing quality service to our patients. With four convenient locations, we help patients manage hearing loss across Olean, Dunkirk, Orchard Park, and Jamestown. We use best practices to fit and program your hearing aids, ensuring they are comfortable for you.

What to Expect at
Your First Appointment

No matter which of our four locations you visit, you will always be provided with excellent service. When you arrive, you will fill out some light paperwork. Once you’ve completed your paperwork our audiologist will greet you and bring you back for your appointment.

1. To begin your appointment, we will take a case history, which includes going over the paperwork you filled out while waiting. We will talk to you about your hearing and build an idea of what is happening in your ears.

2. After our conversation, we will perform a complete ear exam where we will look inside your ears and make sure there is no earwax build-up and that we can see the eardrum.

3. Then we will perform a series of hearing tests including a tone test and a test of the middle ear function.

4. After we’ve tested your hearing, we will go over your results with you. If you are a good candidate for hearing aids, we will recommend some options that we believe will help you.

5. If you want to try hearing aids, we will give you a 45-day trial period to test the hearing aids at home and in your usual environments.

Universal Audiology is a preferred hearing care provider for the NFL Players Association Professional Athletes Foundation. Through this partnership, the PAF aims to bring better hearing to former professional athletes and their fans across the nation. Together, we spread awareness, help players in need of hearing care, and collect data on the connection between hearing loss and professional football.
